2009 Conference Giving News
Sharon Smith, our 2009 Conference Treasurer, reports the following information about YOUR giving in 2009: (See link below to download a PDF that you use to share this information with your local unit.)
Total Giving through the districts from local units for 2009 was $1,071,726.24 which represents an increase of $12,817.94 over 2008.
The final total for the 2009 Conference Love Offering, an undesignated Gift to Mission: “Sisters with a PURPOSE - Celebrating 140 years together in Mission”, was $29,858.43, a decrease of $1,240.68 over 2008.
Our 4th Walk to Mission totaled $5,432.44, a decrease of $2,842.36 over 2008.
Our Spiritual Growth Retreats offering totaled $5,127.87, a decrease of $100.71 over 2008.
Our School of Christian Mission offering totaled $1,134.00.
Our undesignated Mission Giving sent to Women's Division was $844,618.00, which means we met and exceeded our 2009 Pledge to Mission of $815,000!
Our Designated Giving sent to Women's Division was $107,263.74. Designated giving includes the Call to Prayer and Self Denial Offering, national, international and UMCOR projects.
A total of $21,817.33 was given to Other projects, and includes $4,845.00 in contributions to the WNCC UMW General Scholarship Fund.
Our 2009 conference financial goal was to increase TOTAL Mission Giving in the five channels by 1%. We met our goal! TOTAL Mission Giving increased by just over 2%!
