For ten days, April 23 thru May 2, 2008, delegates and leaders of the United Methodist Church, from around the world, gathered in Forth Worth, Texas for General Conference 2008.  General Conference, which convenes every four years, is the top policy-making body of The United Methodist Church. Church law states that no person or organization except the General Conference has authority to speak officially for the denomination.  Delegates were involved in making many difficult and important decisions that will impact the church.

Following is a complete list of our Western North Carolina Conference delegation.  These persons will also represent our conference at the 2008 Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference to be held at Lake Junaluska, July 16-19, 2008.  Continue to hold them in your prayers as they seek discernment for the election of new bishops for our jurisdiction.
