The new Lake Norman District will take effect for United Methodist Women on January 1, 2009.

For the remainder of 2008, local units of United Methodist Women in churches that are part of the new Lake Norman District will continue to be part of their "old" district.

• Mailing lists for district newsletters will remain the same thru 2008

• Remittances by local unit treasurers continue to their "old" district treasurer thru 2008

The PURPOSE of United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
